Part 2 - How to be a Flawed Leader

At Flawed Leader our vision is to Grow. Together.

We do this by empowering leaders and organizations to lead imperfectly through the lens of their growth and the growth of those they lead to transform their path forward.

To lead imperfectly as a Flawed Leader requires specific intention. We support that intention through our Flawed Leader Values.

Our Flawed Leader Values are:

  • Curiosity

  • Growth

  • Presence

  • Humanity

  • Community

  • Advocacy

  • Resilience

These values have a flow starting inward and expanding outward. We started our understanding of what it means to be a Flawed Leader by turning inward to understand the need for Curiosity, Growth, and Presence (see Part 1). Now we continue our understanding by turning outward to the role of Humanity and Community.

Humanity - we are all in this together, our flaws are what connect us

This matters because no one will ever be perfect, everyone is always a work in progress and will show up in a variety of ways in life and work. To be a Flawed Leader is to harness that Curiosity, Growth, and Presence outward as well as inward to honor the connection with those we lead.

Community - relationships are at the center of our ability to lead well

This matters because every relationship will require a unique approach. To be a Flawed Leader is to sense into and support relationships in the way that works best for each person. When we honor our shared humanity, we also must create community that represents that humanity.

Next up in Part 3: we round out our understanding of what it means to be a Flawed Leader by exploring the role of Advocacy and Resilience
