    Frequently Asked Questions

    Who needs to be involved?

This is a facilitator-driven kit with two audiences. You prepare on your own, then run two waves: one with your senior peers to align on the methodology, and a working session with your hiring managers, who will design and run interviews under it.

What will we have when we finish?

A documented interview methodology your senior team has aligned on, a set of role-specific interview designs your hiring managers build in the working session (ready to run on real hires), a clear decision on what your interviews select for, and a system of record. Your work publishes to your own Notion.

What does the kit actually teach?

The logic underneath interviewing: what the interview is for, how to design the flow across multiple conversations, how to design an individual interview, how to make a calibrated hiring decision, and how to make and close the offer. You will learn to keep interviewing from becoming a personality contest decided in hallway conversations.

    How long does it take?

This runs across multiple weeks, not one sitting, typically two to four weeks. Expect two to three hours of your own prep, then two facilitated sessions of about ninety minutes to two and a half hours, the hiring-manager working session runs longer because it produces real artifacts.

Do I need anything in place before I start?

Yes. This kit assumes you already have a hiring methodology, the practice for deciding, defining, posting, sourcing, and screening roles, since interviewing sits one layer downstream. If you have completed Designing Your Hiring Methodology, or the equivalent, you are ready. If it is missing, the kit shows you how to handle it.

Is this a bank of interview questions?

No. It is the methodology beneath the questions: what each interview selects for, what good looks like at each stage, and how your panel converges on a real decision. Your hiring managers leave with role-specific interview designs they built, not a generic question list.
