Define Your Leadership Norms & Expectations
Set one clear standard for how leaders show up, so your team stops getting a different company from each one.
Set one clear standard for how leaders show up, so your team stops getting a different company from each one.
Define Your Leadership Norms & Expectations creates one shared standard for how leaders lead across your organization. With that standard in place, every leader operates through the same lens, and your team gets a consistent experience no matter who they report to.

Do I go through this on my own, or with my team?
Both, in sequence, and you are the one who runs it. You start on your own: an honest look at how leadership shows up across your organization today, the learning, and your own first draft of the norms before anyone else is in the room. Then you facilitate. Two sessions with your leadership team to define and agree the norms together, one session with your whole team so people know what their leaders have committed to, and then the work of building the norms into how you already operate. Your coaching companion is with you through all of it.
Do I have to figure out how to run the sessions?
No. Every session comes with a downloadable agenda you fill in, carrying its own prep checklist, facilitator notes, and timings for each part of the meeting. You are equipped with everything you need to walk in and run it: you pick the dates, prepare yourself, and work the agenda.
What will we have when we finish?
A clear, usable set of leadership norms and expectations, written as observable behaviors, that define how leaders across your organization are expected to show up, make decisions, and support their people. It is built to be lived day to day, not filed away. Your coaching companion captures the work as you go to a Google Doc in your Drive, and publishes the finished set to Notion at the end.
What does the kit actually teach?
What a leadership norm actually is, and what good leadership looks like in practice through three pillars, Support, Guidance, and Empowerment. You will learn how to turn leadership from personal style into shared, observable behavior, how your vision, mission, and values shape your norms, and what makes a norm hold up rather than sit on a page. The how of running each session lives in the agendas the kit gives you.
How long does it take?
About 13 hours end to end, and nothing in it asks more than 90 minutes of you at a time. Roughly 90 minutes to get grounded and learn, an hour on your own draft, 90 minutes to plan the three waves, about 8 hours to run them with roughly half of that in sessions with other people, and an hour to debrief. It is self-paced, so you set the calendar.
Do I need anything in place before I start?
No. It stands on its own. If you have already defined your vision, mission, and values, your norms will connect naturally to them and the work goes deeper, but nothing is required to begin.
How is this different from our company values?
Values describe what your organization believes. Leadership norms describe how your leaders behave, the daily habits and standards people actually experience. This kit defines the second one, so leadership feels consistent no matter who someone reports to, while still leaving room for each leader to lead in their own way.
Does every leader need to take part?
Yes, and the kit is built around it. Your leaders define the norms with you across two working sessions, drafting their own first and then agreeing a shared set together, which is what makes the standard theirs rather than yours. Your whole team then hears what their leaders have committed to, so the norms become something people can hold their leaders to rather than an internal document.
